Lots of work and dedication is shown here and your attention to color, texture, shape and visual information is commendable. Be careful of all the echoing logo shapes and values behind the supporting logo/mark. Trust that your initial logo will do the work for you without all the other drop shadowing of additional logos. A little goes a long way. Let the texture you've created integrate without all the other extraneous design details.
You continue to be a very thoughtful and creative designer who really has learned to focus on what visual communication means to you. You also seem very dedicated and committed to your client, which means the next step is to actually go skating. The next beautiful Atlanta day, check out a pair of skates and treat yourself to a day in Piedmont Park ala skates. think of it as further investigation....it actually might give you a clue as how to proceed with your client.
