I got a little something out

I'm still unsure about the composition here. I think I need to find a color for the type that will read on top of the picture, and maybe edit the picture more.

There's good news and there's bad news

Bad news

I spent $75.00 on an army man costume and a very realistic toy gun. I then spent 5.5 hours editing pictures of myself in the costume, to make it look like a real soldier. It took so long to edit the pictures because I was combining three images into one. Each of the four images contains elements from the following:

1. The images from the original poster.
2. New pictures of me in a costume holding a gun.
3. Faces from various personal photos of mine.

**note RE the top right image, the costume I wore for that was a towel on my head and a sheet around my body, and some pajama pants that were too short for me.

The Faces

Top left: My friend Leo's face
Bottom right: My face
Bottom left: A face I drew using illustrator
Top right: A combination with my grandmother's face and my face, lol

Good news

My rally poster from GRD 3000 looks much better from a graphic standpoint. Also, with careful folding, I may be able to return the costume. =^)

Wouldn't it be nice

Wouldn't it be nice if we could really turn this into an actual 12 x 18 reflective aluminum street sign?

Maybe I will.

Yeah, but no.

Skate Escape Ads: I am happy with the funny idea using the icon and societal messages, like don't drink and drive, etc. I think that will make a great series, but these actual designs are not at all of what the final products will look like- they're more like digital sketches just to get me started.

The g Campaign

I love the mark, but what about the words? Should they be;

Underneath?

On top?

Inside?

A Combo?

Or none?

I'm married and I have a kid

I got married to my idea of the street signs, and we are not getting divorced because I love it. Marriage is about compromise though, so that is why I am getting rid of the traditional street sign colors on my business cards. I am now depending solely on the pattern to be recognizable as a street sign. For my ads though, I will bring back the original street sign colors and do a series of street sign advertisements.

In other news, this morning I adopted a child, her name is EPSON Stylus 1400, she's beautiful. I think we are going to get along great!

The new card colors are below.

GW Viral Campaign

The Global Objects Campaign

Live Trace helped me add great texture to these objects, giving them a very illustrated look.

Because this campaign is one based off of type, I will not be using these for the final piece, but I was too excited about the idea to not illustrate it on the computer.

Final Skate Escape Logo...adjusted

At first glance, it probably looks the same, but shown below are the adjustments that were made. These were necessary changes, mainly for scalability reasons.

Compare the old and the new:

Skate Escape Business Cards

Street Sign Imitations

Diamond Shaped Cards

Standard Business Card Shape and Size

Side Two
Information

Diamond Shaped Card:

The diamond shaped cards would be the most effective in imitating the street signs, these cards would be great in metal.
